Vinyl Ester Resin grades we supply

CREST vinyl ester resins have a proven record of extending the service life of equipment in alkalis, bleaches, acids and organic media. Choose the chemistry by service conditions; our team matches the grade to your process.

Grade typeProcessWhy it is specified
Bisphenol-A epoxy VERHand lay-up, filament winding, glass-flake liningGood thermal and chemical resistance, especially against alkalis. Grades range from high-reactivity resins with excellent chemical and mechanical properties to tough, high-elongation, high-HDT resins.
Novolac epoxy VERHand lay-up, filament winding, glass-flake liningHigher HDT than Bis-A VER and better resistance to organic solvents. Retains properties in continuous dry heat; tough laminates resistant to crazing and cracking.
High-HDT VERHand lay-up, filament winding, glass-flake liningKeeps mechanical properties at high temperature — grades suitable for HDT up to 170 °C.
Brominated (fire-retardant) VERHand lay-up, filament windingFire retardancy with chemical resistance — sodium hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide, alkaline hydrogen peroxide. Laminates certified to ASTM E84 Class 2 (flame spread < 75); Class 1 with antimony.
Bisphenol fumarateHand lay-up, filament winding, glass-flake liningExcellent resistance to strong acids and bases, especially in chlor-alkali industries.
Pultrusion & GFRP rebar VERPultrusion, rebar processHigh-speed pultrusion with improved finish, reduced shrinkage and low styrene emission; rebar grades with excellent mechanical properties.
SMC/DMC VERSMC / DMC / BMCNovolac and Bis-A grades compatible with low-profile additives; can be thickened with magnesium oxide.

Standard reference for resins: EN 13121-1 / ASTM D5263 · FRP design code reference: EN 13121-2 / -3 · FR compliance: ASTM E84.

Buyer questions

Before you order

What is vinyl ester resin used for?

It is the corrosion-resistant matrix for FRP equipment in chemical processing: reaction vessels, chemical storage tanks, process piping and headers, scrubbers, stacks, ducting, cooling towers, flooring and linings, gratings and platforms — and for GFRP rebar.

Which vinyl ester grade suits my chemical?

Bisphenol-A VER for general corrosion service, especially alkalis; novolac VER for higher temperatures and organic solvents; brominated VER where fire retardancy is also needed; bisphenol fumarate for strong acids and bases in chlor-alkali plants. Send the chemical, concentration and operating temperature and our team will recommend the grade.

Which standards do your vinyl ester resins reference?

Resins: EN 13121-1 / ASTM D5263. FRP design code: EN 13121-2 / -3. Fire-retardant compliance: ASTM E84 — our brominated laminates are certified to Class 2, and Class 1 with antimony.

Which curing system should I use?

Follow the cure recommendation in the grade's TDS. For thick novolac laminates, CHP (cumene hydroperoxide) is suggested instead of MEKP.

What information do you need for a quotation?

The product or application, estimated quantity, destination country/port and preferred Incoterm (FOB or CIF). For corrosion service, add the chemical, its concentration and the operating temperature so we can recommend the right grade.

Can Crest provide TDS and SDS before I order?

Yes. Use “Request TDS / SDS” on this page and we email the documents for the grade you are evaluating. Specifications are revised from time to time, so always work from the current TDS.

Do you supply internationally?

Yes. Crest serves more than 500 customers in over 20 countries across four continents, and quotes FOB or CIF.

Which certifications do Crest plants hold?

Our manufacturing facilities are ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified. Product approvals include EN 45545-2 R1 HL2/HL3, ASTM E84, LRS (marine), USFDA 21 CFR 177.2420 and IS 9845:1998.
